I have not used my PS3 for like 3 to 4 years and now I am back again trying to play, The console works like a charm, I downloaded the update through the wireless network and then it automatically started updating the update and it got stuck at 99%. Insert HDD and boot into Safe Mode. Change storage to Flash Storage. Reboot Safe Mode. Change storage to HDD. Reboot Safe Mode. Proceed with Update (unplug controller when checking for update). New HDD detected (finally). Yes to format HDD.
