Black humor or dark comedy often refers to the juxtaposition of morbid and farcical elements to create a disturbing effect. Black comedy, is a sub-genre of comedy and satire where grave topics like death, rape, murder, marital affair, human annihilation or domestic violence are treated in a satirical manner. Reworking material is an integral part of the stand-up comedy material development process that few can avoid. For example, the re-positioning of a single word or word group phrase in a punchline can make the difference between an OK laugh and a huge audience laugh on stage.
